Following its successful launch over east last year, Westfield has announced their Auslan Santa will be jumping in his sleigh and trekking across the Nullarbor this Christmas!

It was launched as a collaborative pilot program in 2022 with Deaf-led advocacy body, Deaf Australia, offering children who use Auslan as their primary form of communication the opportunity to meet and sign with Santa.

These bespoke sessions are also longer, and have helpers and an interpreter on hand to help facilitate.

“Last year’s launch was a truly magical experience, and we know our community was thrilled to be able to communicate with Santa for the first time,” said Deaf Australia Chief Executive Officer, Jen Blyth.

“We are so excited that this experience will be available to even more Deaf and hard of hearing children throughout Australia and we hope they have their wish lists ready.”

Auslan Santa will be appearing at Westfield Carousel on Friday 17 November from 5.30-8.30pm, and Westfield Whitford City on Friday 1 December from 5.30-8.30pm.

You can book Auslan Santa at Westfield Carousel HERE, and at Whitford City HERE.

Along with Auslan Santa, some Westfield centres also feature an option to visit Sensitive Santa, available for those with sensory challenges, anxiety, disabilities, or families who simply require more time.
