Where To Watch The FIFA World Cup 2022 And Socceroos Games Around Perth
The 2022 FIFA World Cup kicked off in earnest this morning our time as the host nation Qatar lost to Ecuador 2-0, in the process becoming the first host nation in the World Cup’s history to lose the tournament’s opening match.
Bad omens for the host nation aside, many of you may be wondering where, when and how you can watch either the Socceroos’ upcoming games, or whichever world team you support.
And outside of all World Cup games screening live on free-to-air TV thanks to SBS, if you’d like to head down to one of your local watering holes to enjoy it with a few mates over a few pints – you’ll have plenty of options to do so thanks to the WA Government’s extended trading hours permit brought in specially for this tournament.

The burger kings at Varsity will be bringing the best of FIFA live and loud with a huge viewing schedule for 6pm and 9pm at ALL Varsity venues. Then the crew at Varsity Joondalup, Waterford and Northbridge will be hosting the late games (11pm, 12am and 3pm) – check out the full schedule and where to catch the games on the Varsity website.
Hyde Park Hotel
The Hydey’s big old front sports bar will be screening 6pm and 9pm games – check their Facebook page for the scheduled screenings.
Vic Park Hotel
The new-look Vic Park Hotel will of course be getting in on the action, screening a whole heap of games including the late starters – check out the full schedule here.
The Wembley Hotel
The Wembley’s big green courtyard + big screen combo is our go-to for footy action during winter, and similarly to Patriots they’ll be showing the 6pm and 9pm games to start things off – check the schedule via their website.
The Globe
The Globe is one of the CBD’s best options for the tried and test combination of great food, great booze and sport on the big screens, and they’re getting in on the FIFA World Cup action accordingly. They’ll be screening “any game worth watching” (check the schedule here), and they’ll be doing lockouts once the game begins so make sure you get there on time!

Patriots Sports Bar
One of Perth’s best sports bars, Patriots is getting in on the action for all of the 6pm and 9pm games – the best way to find out what’s screening each week is via their regular updates on Facebook.
The Camfield
Perhaps Crown’s main challenger for the biggest possible screen to catch the big games on – The Camfield’s huge outdoor screen will be showing select games most nights of the week, including all 6pm games and some 9pm. Check their Facebook page for the upcoming schedule.
The Bassendean Hotel
If you still haven’t popped into the new Basso yet, you’ve really got no excuse over the next couple of weeks as they pump out a bunch of the upcoming FIFA World Cup games, including a few 3am ones! Check out their upcoming schedule to start planning your late night (or early morning).

Kicking off today (Monday 21 November), Crown’s huge Sports Bar will be live streaming all games of the 2022 FIFA World Up.
