Wild Speculation: Is Fred Again.. Throwing A Secret Party In Perth?
With his arrival in Australia earlier this month for St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival and a couple of official sideshows, it’s fair to say the country is in the grips of Fred Again.. mania.
Following on from some pretty cute stories in New Zealand randomly meeting up with fans to play chess around the place, the button-smashing British producer’s Melbourne fans went into meltdown last week trying to figure out where, when or even if he was hosting one of his much-talked-about secret parties around the place.
After sending those fans on a bit of a self-inflicted wild goose chase (turns out “whale emoji” does not equal a show at the Prince of Wales Hotel), an official after party was announced and tickets sold out in under four seconds.
Attention now turns to the remaining leg of the St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival, which sees an impressive lineup that also includes the likes of Phoebe Bridgers, HAIM and Joji, travelling to Adelaide on February 10 and Melbourne February 11 before finishing up at Perth in Wellington Square this Sunday 12 February.
This has of course led to Fred Again..’s rabid fanbase in Perth already speculating if there’ll be an additional secret show while he’s here and we gotta tell you, it’s not looking good.
Given most of the lineup will be flying in on the morning of the festival that only leaves after the festival, and with a schedule as busy as the mastermind behind huge singles like Delilah (pull me out of this) and Turn On The Lights again‘s is, the tea leaves are telling us he’ll be on the next plane outta here pretty darn quickly post-show.
But hey we’re happy to be proven wrong, and you can try your luck at this nearby after party featuring some to be announced acts from the fest.
However, if you’re into gambling we reckon your best bet of catching Fred Again.. while he’s in Perth this weekend is getting along to Laneway Festival, with tickets on sale here.
