Every now and again we all need a Bloody Mary with our eggs benny, some bubbly with our brekkie bagel, or vino with our smashed avo on sourdough. Look, there’s no judgement here, sometimes a booze-filled breakfast is an essential part of the food pyramid. Besides, it’s lunch-time somewhere in the world, right? Let’s just keep telling ourselves that.

Tiisch

If you have a Facebook account I’m sure by now you have heard all about the Tiisch bottomless brunch. Following on from the big smoke’s boozy tradition in New York and London, this city-based delight is bringing the fun to Perth. For $65 you can get a small treat on arrival from the chef, a breakfast main, and two hours of free-flowing bubbly, bloody marys’, mimosas, wine or beer! For the savories out there, you can enjoy confit salmon eggs benedict with champagne hollandaise. For the sweeties, look no further than the miko matcha pancakes featuring; strawberries, vanilla bean ice cream, maple syrup and white chocolate crumbs – yum!

Mount Street Breakfast Bar

$8 Bloody Mary anyone? You heard correct, having a merry breakfast doesn’t need to break the bank at the Mount Street Breakfast Bar. This restaurant prides itself on consistently providing quality, inventive and unpretentious food. Go simple with free range eggs on toast, scrambled, poached or fried. Or take a trip to Turkey and go for a Cilbir; poached eggs, on dill with cucumber yoghurt, butter, chimichurri and Turkish bread. Accompany your meal with a Side Wood chardonnay, elder-apple martini or Campari sunrise.

Globe

If you have had yourself a bit of a sleep in and find yourself in need of some breakfast food with a boozy twist, head to the heart of the city to The Globe. This $49 weekend brunch is a bargain and a half inclusive of; a main brunch item, peach iced tea cocktail on arrival, two hours of free-flowing Prosecco and a mimosa and bellini station. Running every Saturday and Sunday from 11am-1pm with delicious menu times such as; vegan pancakes, cinnamon French toast, bacon butty burger and shredded smoked beef brisket.

TARTS

Tucked away on Lake Street, this busy little café and gift shop does it all. From breakfast and lunch, to high tea and degustation, Tarts always has something going on, and it usually includes live music. Breakfast available every day from 7am, wolf down a Buddha bowl or breakfast bruschetta accompanied by a boozy beverage of your choice. If you manage to make it down to a high tea, be sure to try their piccolo espresso martini, a coffee liquor infused beverage paired with the sweet taste and scent of vanilla.

Raffles Hotel

Just think, it’s a beautiful sunny day, over-looking the swan river, hearing the clinking of champagne flutes, laughter and morning chatter. This heritage listed bar and Applecross icon has been popping up with boozy brunch events throughout summer. The last Brunch Club was held back in January and consisted of self-serve brunching stations and two hours of free flowing premium drinks. Keep your eye out on their Instagram for more dates, hopefully they won’t leave us hanging till next summer.

Maison Saint Honoré

The Swan Valley French patisserie and café boasts the sweetest treats and moreish macaroons in Perth. The level of decadence, perfection and class is impressive and it’s a must-go for any food lover. Breakfast is served until 11.30am, you can enjoy French morning delicacies like crepes and croque monsieur, or perhaps a standard full breakfast is more your style. Wash it all down with a glass (or five) of Moet and move on to an ice cream macaroon cup, because dessert after breakfast is perfectly acceptable here.
