We woke up to some lovely news this morning in our Inbox that we felt was worth sharing to a bunch of no-doubt equally proud West Aussies.

First up came through the results of Trip Advisor’s annual Travelers Choice Best Of The Best Awards For Beaches today, and WA faired pretty darn well!

When it comes to the World Category, Exmouth’s Turquoise Bay scored #6 overall, in a list that looks like this:

  1. Whitehaven Beach – Whitsunday Island, Australia
  2. Santa Maria Beach – Cayo Santa Maria, Cuba
  3. Baia do Sancho – Fernando de Noronha, Brazil
  4. Grace Bay Beach – Providenciales, Turks and Caicos
  5. Saint Pete Beach – Florida, United States
  6. Turquoise Bay – Exmouth, Australia
  7. Eagle Beach – Eagle Beach, Aruba
  8. Spiaggia dei Conigli – Lampedusa, Italy
  9. Ka’anapali Beach – Hawaii, United States
  10. Baía dos Golfinhos – Praia da Pipa, Brazil

 

In addition to this impressive ranking, when it came to the Top 10 beaches in the South Pacific, WA did very well:

  1. Whitehaven Beach – Whitsunday Island, Australia
  2. Turquoise Bay – Exmouth, Australia
  3. Cape Le Grand National Park – Esperance, Australia
  4. Greens Pool – Denmark, Australia
  5. Cable Beach – Broome, Australia
  6. Matira Beach – Bora Bora, French Polynesia
  7. Piscine Naturelle – Ile Des Pins, New Caledonia
  8. Ohope Beach – Whakatane, New Zealand
  9. Kaiteriteri Beach – Kaiteriteri, New Zealand
  10. Mt Maunganui Main Beach – Mount Maunganui, New Zealand

You may recall we recently Western Australia’s 50 best beaches, with Turquoise Bay taking out top spot.

In equally cool news, online reservation website Wotif also announced their Aussie Town Of The Year Awards, with Turquoise Bay’s hometown of Exmouth (read our guide here) coming in at #8!
