Annalakshmi on the Swan, Perth City

Overlooking the stunning Swan River in the CBD is Annalakshmi, a pay-as-you-feel Indian restaurant. Annalakshmi, founded in Perth in 1991, offers both a lunch and dinner buffet which is run by volunteers. Pile your plate high with wholesome Indian soup, rice and a selection of hearty vegan curries – don’t forget to try the spiced potato! You can either sit inside at the bustling communal tables, or on the benches outside to revel in the glory of our beautiful city.

Mashawi

Middle Eastern folk know a thing or two about vegetarian cuisine, after all they bought hummus, falafel and tabouli into the world. With richly spiced potato, haloumi and cauliflower hot tapas on offer for entrée, and hearty, lovingly made eggplant or chickpea vegan tagines for mains, Mashawi is sure to satisfy. Located in Mount Lawley, Victoria Park and Currambine, there is sure to be a flavoursome feast awaiting at a restaurant near you!

Goreng Goreng

Nestled within a funky, compact shopfront along Walcott Street in Mount Lawley, Goreng Goreng serves up some of the freshest Asian food in Perth. Goreng Goreng provides affordable, quick and healthy meals without compromising on flavour, and you can also see the kitchen at work behind the counter (so you know its fresh!). While not exclusively a vegetarian restaurant, you can find meat free options including Make Your Own Noodles or Rice with tofu and your choice of sauce – you can’t go past the satay!

Lord of the Fries

Vegetarian doesn’t always have to mean healthy – sometimes you just want to delve in to some crispy, fried goodness (especially on a night out!) Conveniently located in the CBD, Lord of the Fries offers vegetarians and vegans a fast food experience without the meat or dairy. Choose from their addictive famous fries, plant-based burgers or loaded hotdogs. They also offer a hot breakfast menu with “fakin’” bacon and egg muffins.

Pancho’s

Now operating solely out of its East Victoria Park location, Pancho’s Mexican Villa has been a cult favourite since opening in 1982. Its menu offers a flavoursome vegetarian twist on classic Mexican dishes including nachos, fajitas, burritos and tacos in an upbeat, fun environment. You can customise your dish to be filled with either frijoles (hearty, spiced beans) or creamy, comforting spinach and potato. Either way, be sure to wash down your delicious meal with a refreshing frozen margarita. And for our fully plant-based friends, Pancho’s also now offers a full vegan menu too!
