The Bledisloe Cup will be back in Perth next year, the only Cup match on Aussie soil in 2025!
Here’s a fun fact we just learnt today – the 2019 Bledisloe Cup match holds the record for the highest attendance for a sporting event at Optus Stadium!
And the reason why we learnt it today is because it’s just been announced that it’ll be back at the Stadium next year on October 4 – the only match of the Bledisloe Cup to be held down under in 2025!
The only bad news really is that the match will if course be our Wallabies against the all-conquering New Zealand All Blacks, who we haven’t beaten since 2020, though we did win at the 2019 Optus Stadium match before that.

That test saw a record 61,000 in attendance, and the Wallabies take home a convincing win 47-26.
It also saw over 7000 visitors from outside of WA travel to Perth, injecting over $12 million in visitor expenditure in the process, according to the WA Government.
“Our Government is very pleased to be bringing back another ‘edge-of-your-seat’ rugby event and we look forward to seeing Optus Stadium packed once again for the Bledisloe Cup’s return to WA,” said Sport and Recreation Minister David Templeman.
“Time and time again, Western Australia has proven to be a world-class host of these major international sporting events, and we look forward to cheering on the Wallabies as they go up against their old-time rivals, the All Blacks.”
