Collie’s continued emergence as the mountain biking capital of the WA has only firmed with the news it will host the AusCycling Mountain Bike Enduro National Championships for the next three years.

The WA Government announced the agreement yesterday, calling it a boost to region’s valuable tourism prospects, with thousands of visitors and competitors expected to attend the event.

It’s the first time the event has been held in Western Australia, and this year runs from October 17-20 before returning in 2025 and 2026.

“One of the many amazing things about Collie-Preston is our spectacular mountain bike trails – we’ve developed a reputation for having some of the best in the world – so I can’t think of a better place to hold this event,” said Member for Collie-Preston Jodie Hanns.

“It’s so exciting to be hosting these Championships and we can’t wait to welcome competitors and visitors to our beautiful part of the world in October and showing off all that our great community has to offer.”

The Collie Town Mountain Bike Trails provide over 100 kilometres of trails through the region’s jarrah forrests, with steep valleys and meandering rivers just some of the obstacles competitors will be faced with.

More than 1000 riders are anticipated to compete across the event overall, which serves as an important qualifier for the World Championships and deliver critical Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) points.
