Eagles hoping to keep Harley Reid in the West as huge contract talks underway
West Coast Eagles are hoping to extend the contract of star youngster Harley Reid past 2026.
The number one draft pick from last year has already exceeded many expectations in his first nine games in the AFL and could be due a big pay rise.
It has been speculated that the Eagles will give Reid a $1.5 million extension which would see him remain in the West until 2027.

It has been an electrifying first nine games for the young star, which have already included Mark of the Year, Goal of the Year (below) and Rising Star nominations, along with narrowly missing out on a Glendinning-Allan medal in his first Western Derby.

“It’s just about making sure he surrounds himself with the right people and they look after him.”
One thing for certain is that Harley Reid certainly has immense hype around him already.
Speaking on Midweek Tackle, Jay Clark said: “He’s one of the most marketable players. He will make so much more money off-field in terms of his endorsements than what he’ll make on-field…
“He is a rare figure – we haven’t seen earning potential like Harley Reid.”
