Optus Stadium to host huge Festival of Footy for this year’s WAFL Grand Final, tickets on sale
The West Australian Football Commission (WAFC) has announced this year’s WAFL Grand Final will return to Optus Stadium for a huge festival of footy on Sunday 24 September.
After almost 17,000 fans packed out Leederville Oval to see West Perth defeat Claremont last year, the upgrade to Optus Stadium comes with more fun for the whole family.
“There will be so much going on outside and inside Optus Stadium to keep the whole family entertained,” said WAFC CEO Michael Roberts.
“I encourage fans to get to Optus Stadium early to take advantage of the Festival of Footy which will provide a carnival atmosphere, before taking your seat inside the stadium to watch some of the state’s best players in action.”
Mr Roberts said this year’s grand final day will be like no other before it.

“This is one of the closest seasons we’ve seen in recent history with just one game separating first and fifth place on the ladder, this year’s grand final is set to be blockbuster.”
It’s a fantastic opportunity for local players and fans to experience the WAFL at one of the world’s best sports stadiums, and comes after almost 30,000 fans watched the 2021 WAFL Grand Final.
“Last year’s Grand Final was an incredible success at Leederville, due to the unavailability of Optus Stadium,” Roberts said.
“However, we are overjoyed to have the chance to bring the action back to this state-of-the-art venue, providing an unforgettable experience for our players and fans.”
Tickets are on sale now.
