Date set for all-important Game II of State of Origin at Optus Stadium next year
Game II of next year’s National Rugby League (NRL) State of Origin series will be held at Optus Stadium on Wednesday 18 June, the WA Government has revealed.
One of the country’s biggest annual sporting events, last time Perth hosted a State of Origin game in 2022 it was a sellout with almost 60,000 rugby fans packing into the stadium.
Tickets go on sale this Friday 22 November at 1pm our time.
And its expected next year’s match will follow set, with thousands of visitors anticipated to visit WA for the game.
“State of Origin is one of the biggest fixtures on the Australian sporting calendar, and we’re so excited it’s returning to Perth again in 2025,” said Tourism Minister Rita Saffioti.

“The passion this event ignites, the rivalry it sparks between friends and family and the thousands of people it entices to travel each year is just incredible.”
It continues the growth of the sport (in its various forms) in the Sate, following on from this year’s sellout match between the Sydney Roosters and Dolphins at HBF Park and 2023’s doubleheader, which brought over the South Sydney Rabbitohs, Cronulla Sharks, Newcastle Knights and Dolphins.
Before Origin’s mid-year arrival, the HSBC SVNS also makes its return to the State for a big weekend of rugby 7s fun at HBF Park from January 24-26.
And just last week the Western Force (super rugby) unveiled their new-look, 20th anniversary jerseys.
