Perth’s Steve Erceg fights for the World Flyweight Title at UFC 301 in Brazil this weekend
This weekend, Perth local Steve “Astroboy” Erceg will fight to become the UFC world flyweight champion, when he takes on Alexandre “The Cannibal” Pantoja in Pantoja’s home country of Brazil at UFC 301.
Erceg will fight Pantoja in the main event of the evening, in just the Aussie’s fourth fight in the promotion after he made his UFC debut in June last year.

Erceg holds a professional record of 12-1, and is riding a 11-fight win streak, his last fight being a second round KO victory over America’s Matt Schnell.
Pantoja, professional record of 27-5, is on a five-fight win streak, with one title defence over Brandon Royval at the end of 2023.
Pantoja won the title from Brandon Moreno in July 2023, one month after Erceg’s UFC debut.

UFC 301 will be broadcast via Main Event and Kayo Sports, or you can watch it at one of Perth’s many excellent sports bars.

What time is UFC 301 on in Perth?
The fight is going down on Sunday 5 May, with the main card starting at 10am Perth time, and Erceg’s fight scheduled to commence at 12.15pm Perth time.
Pre-fight press conference and weigh-in
It is currently unconfirmed if there will be a press conference for UFC 301, as the last time the UFC held an event in Brazil, UFC 283, there was not a pre-fight press conference.
The fighters will officially weigh in at 8pm on Saturday 4 May Perth time, with fans being able to watch the official weigh-in show on the UFC’s YouTube channel, as well as the UFC FightPass.
The ceremonial weigh ins will then be broadcast at 5am Perth time via the UFC’s social media channels as well as the UFC FightPass.
