At just under an hour-and-a-half from Perth, Toodyay makes for a pretty perfect little town to visit for a day or two. Right near the Avon River, it puts you within spitting distance of a bunch of cute little country towns like York and Northam, and is a great little town to put some time in its own right.

And if you’re looking to put some time in there and the surrounding wheatbelt area, we have an uber-cool little place for you to stay in! The Toodyay Art Shack is a rustic-yet-modern take on the iconic Aussie shed, one that’s been up for a bunch of awards since its construction including being a Stayz Holiday Home Awards Finalist in 2019.

At only $175/night and with the capacity to sleep eight people, it’s perfect for wide range of folks, from couples to big groups, plus even pets are allowed! It’s filled with contemporary art pieces, open bathrooms and an outdoor toilet that overlooks the sweeping flood plains of the Avon to go with an outdoor bath (an absolute must have these days).

Other features include a central kitchen, lounge and dining area set around a stunning wood-burning stove that warms up the place in no time, a large open-air deck surrounded by a studio, tea room and bedroom tower, and a covered balcony with more hills views.

Enjoying those views you’ll find a variety of native bird life enjoying the terrain, along with plenty of walking tracks in front of the property to help you get exploring at ground level…Look we could go on, but we’ll the pictures below speak for themselves, and invite you to follow THIS LINK to find some availabilities and get booking!
