Berkley River Lodge: “Australia’s Most Remote Luxury Accomodation” Which Is Only Accessible By Air
Talk about aspirational – Berkley River Lodge is located in a very secluded area of the Kimberley Coast, around 150km from the Kimberley region’s northernmost town, Wyndham. Only accessible by air, Berkley River Lodge offers all-inclusive packages in villas that feature open-air showers and free-standing baths.
The 20m lap pool overlooks the Timor Sea, Reveley Island and the mouth of the mighty Berkley River, as do the villas with spacious living areas and outdoor decks complete with furniture. In addition to just basking in some beautiful coastal views, there’s an array of activities you can partake in during your stay, including river cruises, guided hikes, fishing, wilderness picnics, helicopter flights and sea turtle viewing if the season is right!
The two types of villas are Ocean View and River View, and the property has a small library and conference centre. And talk about properly disconnecting from the world – mobile phones do not work at Berkley, with satellite calls only from reception and wifi available only in the library.
