If there’s one thing we love equal to or greater than an outdoor bath, it’s a nice, warm, cosy cabin! Western Australia’s southwest region is littered with some wonderful options, and this time of year might just reveal a few sneaky availabilities as people look more to the coast with the weather warming up.
Hidden Cabins – Florence (Peel Region)
Florence is Perth’s newest tiny cabin, hidden amongst nature, 1.5 hours South of Perth. A dirt road, a gate and a short walk later, you’ll find Florence, nestled among the beautiful Australian bush. Wake up among the trees and fill your days with a little adventure and a healthy dose of doing nothing for a while.

Whispering Woods (Pemberton)
Whispering Woods is a charming rustic little cabin just outside of Pemberton that really gives you the feeling of stepping back in time. Set on a lush property, wake up with the sun, animals of the farm and birds from the forest. Spend your day exploring the beauty of the area and end with a warming fire and star gazing. There are some great trails through gorgeous state forest only 50m from the cottage. Explore the whole 80 acres and you can walk around to meet the farm animals. Pets allowed.
The Cabin (Margaret River)
The Cabin is a beautiful artisan building made using local timbers and rustic decor. It’s comfortably set amongst 75 acres of farmland in the charming Witchcliffe in the Margaret River region. Wake up with the sun, animals on the farm and birds from the forest. Spend your day exploring the beauty of the area and end with a warming fire and star gazing. Right around the corner is the delightful @yardbyrd_witchcliffe for your morning coffee fix.
Balingup Heights (Balingup)
Set high in a hilltop forest, Balingup Heights is a 46-acre natural bush land property. It offers six fully self-contained cottages, set apart for guests’ privacy and overlooking picturesque vistas and the town of Balingup. The one and two-bedroom cottages all feature balconies, a wood fire, air-conditioning, a well-appointed kitchen and BBQ.
Mudstone Spa Retreat (Pemberton)
Mudstone offers luxurious private accommodation located just 15 minutes from the townsite of Pemberton. Ark Of Denmark is magic little treehouse located on the top of Weedon Hill, renown for its huge Karri trees and majestic granite boulders, only 3kms from the centre of Denmark. Walk through tall, slim wooden and glass cathedral doors into an amazing split level studio apartment. And it’s doggo friendly!

The Tree House (Denmark)
Sitting high between two tall karri trees and surrounded by giant granite boulders, one which rises up through the floor and in the living room, The Tree House is one of the more unique places to stay around Denmark. The living room in this unique home has an open plan kitchen/dining area. The space opens out to a large balcony deck with great views of the forest and glimpses of the inlet. The sleeping spaces in The Tree House comprise of 1 main bedroom with a a built-in wardrobe and a built-in vanity basin as well as a separate mezzanine sleeping loft above the living area. Both have queen-sized beds. The bathroom has a double-ended spa bath as well as a stand-alone shower.
