Enjoy a bath overlooking the water at this brand new adults-only retreat near Margaret River

Our never-ending hunt for unique stays around Western Australia has unearthed some serious gems over the journey, and Edge Luxury Villas is well up there we have to say.

Literally just opening up to the public (this week it accepted its first guests), this adults-only retreat is located in Wilyabrup on an expansive 136-acre farm and forest.

The full retreat features four self-contained villas, perched perfectly over a tranquil lake to set the scene for maximum romance and relaxation.

Being located in the middle of the Margaret River wine region puts you nearby world class wineries, epic beaches, restaurants and local attractions galore.

To be fair though, you may not want to leave, opting instead for chilling on the private deck, swimming in the lake, enjoying a picnic or taking tranquil strolls through 20 acres of old growth forest.

Internally the villas are well-equipped with leather lounges, wood fireplace, king beds with luxury linen and all of the modern comforts you could ask for on an indulgent weekend away.

While we’re obviously big fans of an outdoor bath, Edge Villas kinda gives you the best of both worlds with the freestanding bath sitting in front a large window overlooking the lake.

The entire project has been incredibly well-thought out, after they made the decision in 2013 to protect their old growth from cattle intrusion, meaning it has regenerated as a natural ecosystem.

This means it serves as a sanctuary for a variety of wildlife in the region including red-tailed black cockatoos, western ringtail possums, quenda, kangaroos and more.
