Check Out This Cosy Little Cottage Stay In Quinninup, Right On The Banks Of Karri Lake
This charming two bedroom cottage in Quinninup’s historic mill settlement is the perfect cosy getaway for four guests. Just a 25 minute drive east of Pemberton, this little stay boasts an indoor fireplace and an outdoor fire pit and bath where you can stargaze.
For colder nights the cosy wood burner will heat the place up in no time, there’s also reverse cycle units for heating (and cooling) in the living area and bedrooms.
The 75-year-old cottage oozes a rustic warmth throughout from the original jarrah floorboards and sash windows to the perfectly selected vintage artwork and furniture.
You can also enjoy a glass of wine on the verandah while you spot the wildlife – blue wrens, frogs and owls make a regular appearance while possums and mice are rarer to see!

While the cottage’s vintage style interior design is stunning, the main attraction is the Karri Lake, located less than a five minute walk from the property. It is also newly open for passive recreation, so BYO your canoes, water inflatables and bathers!
Or you can stick to land and check out the scenic 3.3km walking trail (Karri Lake Walk) which loops around the lake. Taking under an hour to complete, this trail is the perfect morning activity where you can watch the mist evaporate off the lake.
Millars is an idyllic spot to escape, relax, and simply breathe with no kids or pets allowed. There is an open living, dining and kitchen space stocking a basic pantry but make sure to bring everything you need as there are no shops or petrol stations in this remote part of the south west. However, do not fear – there is a pub!
