Rottnest Island (Wadjemup)’s accommodation options are finally about to expand in a meaningful fashion with the launch of the much-anticipated The Lodge Wadjemup.
With phase one opening early next year, guests looking to stay on the island during the peak 2025 summer season will be able to book next month.

The development will provide a much-needed capacity boost for visitors staying overnight, with a total of 109 rooms to be released in stages, with full completion mid-next year.
Of those stages, refurbished rooms will come online first, followed by newly-constructed rooms, a pool, conference space and Gathering Ground.
Alongside the accommodation, the project includes two new hospitality venues that will be officially unveiled soon with Chef Mat Powell (Il Lido) at the helm.
The first, Sunsets Bar & Dining, offers Mediterranean-inspired all day dining (featuring sunset views over the lake), while Pelican will be a casual coffee and ice-cream kiosk, both of which are operated by WA venue group Social Grounds Hospitality (Southcamp, Jetty).
The Lodge Wadjemup news comes as the WA Government also announced almost $100 million worth of staff accommodation upgrades for the island.
