Time For A Romantic Getaway But Can’t Go Far? This Cosy Little Freo Studio Should Do Just The Trick

We get it, sometimes you need a cheeky little getaway but maybe you don’t have the means – or time – to take a few hours jaunt off into the Western Australian wilderness. Well not all getaways need to involve long drives to faraway places, and sometimes you can find a private little getaway right on your doorstep.

Enter Silver Street Studio, conveniently located amidst the uber cool surrounds of South Fremantle and ready for you to set the dial all the way to maximum chill. Hidden behind high limestone walls and within walking distance of South Freo’s beaut cafes, beach, restaurants and galleries, it was originally built as an artist-run space, but now is the scene of your next romantic weekend away.

And yes, there is an outdoor bath on site!

It’s also a lot of fun – after walking through the ‘hobbit door’ within a larger ‘medieval gate’ supported by high limestone walls you’ll immediately feel relaxed in a lush, private courtyard shaded by all kinds of leafy vegetation. At the northern end of the courtyard you’ll even find a couple of mountain bikes free for you to use when exploring Freo and the surrounds!

Inside you’ll find rustic-looking modern facilities amidst a comfy, cosy and eclectic interior thanks a very unique architectural style featuring upcycled timbers from the old bridge, wool store and wharfs, along with limestone blocks recycled from an old Freo church, and even a roof turret rescued from the old Swanbourne Hospital.

The upper level opens up into a beautiful main bedroom along with a mezzanine walkway connecting to the bathroom/dressing area. This area then opens up into a north-facing veranda now home to a fully-plumbed four claw bath.
