Set Up Camp Near Bluff Knoll At This Homey Cottage & Farmstay, Yardup Cottage
It’s been a lot of fun the past few weeks discovering and sharing some of WA’s awesome getaways on our new channel @perthisok.stays, but today we’ve found something for the little more adventurous out there. Not quite as filled with all the creature comforts you may have come to expect from some of the more luxurious stays, Yardup Cottage is an hour from Albany and offers a truly remote experience.
Built in the 1900s, the cottage has been lovingly restored (as the photos below will attest) and offers a private farm-style accomodation with spectacular views of the Stirling Ranges. The ranges, which contain popular WA hiking spot Bluff Knoll, are only 15 minutes from Yardup Cottage, while the rest of the stunning south coast, Porongorup Range and Bremer Bay Canyon are also close by.
Location-wise it’s the perfect homebase for some southern coast exploring, but it also works as a cosy little getaway from the rest of the world, complete with a wood fire, electric blankets and barbecue. All you’ll need to bring is food for your stay – seriously, the closest food store is almost 60km away! There’s also no wi-fi and limited phone service depending on your provider, plus it’s a working farm so you’ll be right amongst it.
There’s plenty of availabilities in the coming months, head HERE to get booking and check out some photos below:
