Everything cool comes to Mount Lawley first, and Dainty’s is no exception. Perth’s first Asian roasting house, snack joint and bar is perfect for the little peckish, big hungry, and party people alike. Fancying a quick bite? The daily dumpling special never disappoints. If you want something bigger, the Massaman Curry is yours for the nom’ing. Don’t worry veggos, there’s some special menu items for you too.

This bar is basically Mount Lawley in a nutshell: classy, laid back, and trendy without trying. Open since 2006, a popular hotspot for its forever current craft beer and wine list, bar staff with top notch banter and diverse seating that caters for everyone. Kick back on the couches and play a board game, cider in hand. Or nosh on some fried haloumi and Truffle & Parmesan Polenta Croquettes on the high tables out back.

Defectors Bar

Located on the second floor of the iconic Flying Scotsman Pub, Defectors Bar is a relaxed spot right in the middle Mount Lawley’s energetic scene. The interior is vintage luxe, featuring textured wallpaper, floor lamps and warm red velvet couches. The balcony overlooks Beaufort Street and has a beautiful distant view of the city skyline. It’s a perfect place to soak up the streets’ vibe.

Clarences

Clarences is one of the most inviting spaces on the Beaufort strip featuring an intimate courtyard, exposed brick walls and warm lighting. There is a focus on simplicity, providing food and drinks that have been prepared with the same love and care as if it came straight from grandma’s house. Be sure to try the Peasants Daiquiri, featuring lime mango puree and cumin chilli syrup.

The Astor Theatre has been occupying centre stage of this busy locale since 1919. This multi purpose facility hosts live music, comedy shows and community events all throughout the year. Over the next few months you can catch POND playing, as well as a Prince dedication night, Meg Mac and Smith Street band.

The West Australian Academy of Performing Arts is nestled right in Mount Lawley. This means there is a plethora of highly skilled creatives putting on shows all the time. Enjoy anything from live music to theatre and dance. Head on over to their website and pick up a ticket.
