When you play Lotterywest games you are helping to give back to so many communities across WA, and we think that is pretty special.

In the last financial year alone, Lotterywest gave $373 million in grants to so many people and groups in our state – so when you play the lottery you are contributing to so many good things.

We’ve been diving into several of these grants through our Dream State series, and this week we’re looking at St Catherine’s College’s Bloom Centre for Youth Innovation.

The Centre for Youth Innovation at St Catherine’s uses a program called Bloom to raise the entrepreneurial spirit of young Western Australians. Recently, Lotterywest gave $393,900 to St Catherine’s College to go towards renovating the Centre for Youth Innovation.

The redevelopment will help further develop the capabilities of the facility and Bloom program all to benefit the young people of WA: “Lotterywest has supported St Catherine’s many times over the years, the latest project is the refurbishment of our innovation hub,” said Lisa Longman, Director of Innovation at Bloom. “The refurbishment allowed us to open up the space which now has coworking areas, booths, meeting hubs, podcasting studios and several lecture theatres.”

Truly, Bloom is one of Perth’s leading youth entrepreneurship hubs and is accessible to young innovators and aspiring entrepreneurs – all thanks to yet another important grant from Lotterywest.

Don’t take it from us though, the program does so much for young people in Perth and further across Western Australia, and the Lotterywest grant could be called a game changer.

“The funding from Lotterywest has made it a much more modern, more presentable space, it has been a game changer,” said Brandon Harris, a Bloom Student. “We have a lot more students engaging with Bloom which has been awesome.”

Must be good to know that by playing Lotterywest games you are playing your part in helping develop the future business people of our state.
