The Best Late Night Cafes Around Perth
Cocktails are cool and everything, but sometimes after a long day some caffeine is on the cards. It’s hard enough getting a coffee after lunch – but what about in the evening? We’ve rustled up a few spots around Perth to grab an evening coffee.
The Moon
Ah, The Moon. Our faithful stallion, carrying us into the wee hours of the morning. Open from midday until the early hours of the morning, they’ll sort you out with a tantalising plate of pasta, a towering burger, a boozy cocktail or a cosy cup of coffee. Sitting in one of those booths (or out the back in the courtyard with some tunes), sharing the goss with mates over a late night coffee? There’s no better way to while away an evening.
Shop 2, 323 William Street, Northbridge
Voodoo Coffee
Offering good brews and good juju, Voodoo is one of the handiest spots to drop into for a coffee, whatever the time of day. Getting to the office extra extra early? They’re open. Stopping in for that late arvo pick-me-up? They’re open. Debrief and chat after a movie upstairs? They’re bloody open ’til 10! At night! We love to see it.
Raine Square, 10/300 Murray Street, Perth
Gordon Street Garage
A long standing go-to, Gordon Street Garage has you covered at any time of day or night. Open from 7am until late (8am on weekends), they’ve got you covered with everything from a boozy brunch or courtyard drinks, to a restorative evening coffee – with that in-house roaster front and centre, you know they’re at the top of their coffee game.
16 Gordon St, West Perth
Alex Hotel
Hidden away in the lobby of the Alex Hotel is some of Perth’s best coffee. The hotel’s fit-out is one of the best in Perth, and their espresso bar is one of Northbridge’s not-so-secret, secret gems. Even better? It’s available at almost any hour of the day.
50 James Street, Northbridge
Chubby Boy
We’re into everything fluffy and thicc these days, so it’s no surprise Chubby Boy has such a passionate following. If you can resist those pillowy, thick slices of shokupan (although why would you)… They’re also serving up coffees long after everyone else has shut down their machines, with their Inglewood store open until 9pm.
861 Beaufort Street, Inglewood
Pretzel
There’s something about those enticing, glowing, pink shipping containers… When we see them, we’re like a moth to a flame. What’s better than hot bread, after all? Well, a nice hot cuppa coffee doesn’t go astray! Pretzel’s four WA locations are all open late, but their Northbridge location – just across from the Alex Hotel, smack bang in the middle of things – is open to a whopping 2:30am on Friday and Saturday nights! We won’t go into details, but they’ve certainly saved a few nights out.
Kumo Desserts
Soufflé pancakes have truly taken the world by storm, and Kumo is at the forefront of our obsession with the fluffy treat. Light as air, these pancakes are decadently topped with a selection of goodies, from banana and bacon to boba brûlée – but they also do a cracking coffee that’s available until 9:30pm, or 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
39 Washing Lane, Northbridge
Get Chunky
Another dessert spot that’s to blame for our collective inability to stick to any diets! Masters of dough Get Chunky have not only their tantalising cookies available until 9:30, but their coffees, too.

Superstar Waffles
The perfect way to finish off a big bowl of Francoforte pasta? Well, a big ol’ plate of waffles, obviously. Superstar Waffles really are superstars at the late night dessert game, with their cute laneway digs really completing the late night vibes. Open until 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays, you can get your coffee and waffle fix well into the evening.
8/189 William Street Arcade, Northbridge
