7 Great Late Night Eats Around Perth

We may be fans of the early bird special, but sometimes the late night is calling! Where do you go when the drinks are flowing and you need a late night feed?

Ah, The Moon. Our faithful stallion, carrying us into the wee hours of the morning. Open from midday until the early hours of the morning, the 30-year-strong diner will sort you out with a tantalising plate of pasta, a towering burger, a boozy cocktail or a cosy cup of coffee. Sitting in one of those booths (or out the back in the courtyard with some tunes), sharing the goss with mates over a late night snack? There’s no better way to while away an evening.

The Standard

Not only is The Standard home to one of Perth’s best beer gardens, perfect for soaking up the afternoon sun, but their kitchen is open until late into the evening. The Standard’s menu is home to a seriously fantastic selection of options for various dietary preferences and requirements – including heaps of vego and gluten free goodies, and if you’re there earlier in the evening, their Lazy Weekends are also legendary, with a huge feed for only $65 served on a lazy Susan.

U&I 24hr Cafe

Such is the legend of U&I that it’s more frequently referred to by its unofficial name: 24-hour phở. Perched on the corner of William and Francis Streets, it’s tantalisingly close to all the nighttime action – although a hot bowl of phở and a stuffed chicken wing goes rather nicely at any hour.

Alfred’s Kitchen

It only takes a quick glance at our comments anytime we mention burgers to determine the vast passion the people of Perth have for Alfred’s (and at all hours!). The roadside institution is a favourite for their home-style burgers as well as their famous pea and ham soup – perfect for warming up by the fire on a cold night. On Friday and Saturday nights they’re open ’til 2:00, and midnight the rest of the week.

Billy Lee’s/Uncle Billy’s

Is there a longer running, deeper rivalry than the one between Billy Lees and Uncle Billy’s diners? We’ll try to avoid any contentious statements, but one thing we know for sure: a late night feed in Chinatown is an iconic Perth tradition – it’s even on our Perth Bucket List!). Open til the wee hours of the morning, what was once a necessity (just about nothing else was open, after all) has become a destination in and of itself. Make sure to sit in the laneway to take in the maximum ambience.

Alfred’s Pizzeria

There must be something about the name Alfred that makes you want to stay up all night long! The CBD pizzeria and small bar is one of our favourite quirky spots to enjoy a cheeky drink, but their pizzas – ooey, gooey and available ’til 11:45 – will be the salve to any late night.
