Bubble tea – we bloody love it.

Not since the great Mexican food craze of the early 2010s has Perth become so obsessed with a particular culinary delight, and we have gone bonkers for Boba AKA Bubble Tea.

Not surprisingly, it feels like new Bubble Tea spots are opening up weekly, so we’ve tried to round up a few of the best for you to line up at soon!

Presotea

One of a few different bubble tea-slinging franchises around Perth, Presotea originated in the homeland of the drink, Taiwan, way back in 2006.

Since then it’s opened 16 stores around Perth, before expanding to the east coast in recent years.

What we’re trying to say is, Presotea are one of the best in business in the world to satiate all of your bubble tea desires – so track one down today.

Various Locations, Perth

Teamorrorw

When we were joking about lining up at the start, one of the places we were definitely referring to was Teamorrorw in Northbridge.

And the reason you have to wait is pretty simple – they’re one of the best spots in Perth, so head in with a casual attitude and be ready to enjoy a bit of people watching while you wait for that boba goodness.

14/375 William St, Northbridge

Utopia

Another legacy bubble tea merchant, Utopia was established in Perth way back in 2001, and is basically the reason why bubble tea is so massive here.

Their dedication to fresh, WA-sourced ingredients has been a key ingredient in their ongoing success, and you can now find them across 18 locations around Perth!

Fresh Tea Merchants

Another in Northbridge’s menagerie of bubble tea options, Fresh Tea Merchants is the go-to for many fans thanks to the huge variety of ingredients on offer.

The very reasonable pricing also helps, along with the ability to smash your own flavours together however you like.

109 James St, Northbridge

CHAFFIC

Across their two locations in Perth and Fremantle, CHAFFIC have thrived thanks to a commitment to experimenting the realms of possibility when it comes to tea flavour combos.

With tea leaves sourced from ancient Fujian Wuyi Mountain traders, they’re forever tinkering with limited release and seasonal flavours – one for the true tea connoisseurs.

Hi Tea

Across three locations Hi Tea is all about quantity (and quality, of course), with over 100 flavours to choose from and reasonably priced too.
Their smoothie range is also excellent (the Avocado Smoothie is a fave), and if you go to their Hamburger Hill location you can combine it with a big ole burger.

Upper Hand

And speaking of burger + bubble tea combos, Upper Hand in Swanbourne is all about them!

They put an incredible amount of love into their burgers, so we recommend dining in to enjoy the full experience, with an added bubble tea combo to boot.

123 Claremont Cres, Swanbourne

Hero Tang Tea

One of the best CBD-located options for a boba treat, they’ve only been around for just over a year but already have a very happy, loyal following.

If you’re not sure what to get, we recommend starting with the popular Pearl Milk Green Tea, and let your bubble tea obsession begin!

614 Hay St, Perth

Nobibi

Probably the cutest café on this list, once you’ve dodged all the Instagrammers nabbing a picture-perfect pink snap you’ll enjoy some beautiful bubble tea.

The super friendly staff will more than happily guide you through the process, although it’s hard to go past the Brown Sugar Pearl Latte with Crème Brulee for an extra sweet treat.

2/189 William St, Northbridge

Hanabing

Although traditionally a Taiwanese desert, Hanabing put a Korean spin on things with their special “bingsu” varieties.

Shaven milk with toppings like Blueberry Cheesecake, Matcha Chocolate and Peach will satisfy even the most intense sugar cravings.

4/137 Newcastle St, Perth

Honey Crème

While Honey Crème might draw you in with their unique soft serve flavours (made form locally-sourced ingredients), their fruit tea and bobo milk options are the new heroes.

For something sweet it’s hard to ignore the Bobo Oreo Milk Tea, or if you’re feeling adventurous their cheese fruit tea options like Cheese Mango, Cheese Pink and Cheese Wonder Watermelon may surprise you.

61 Barrack St, Perth + Westfield Carousel, Cannington

Share Teaz Bubble Tea

Finally, if you’re looking for what may just be Perth’s best bubble tea, jump in the car (or on the train) and head south to Share Teaz in Cockburn Central.

The warm, friendly owners are always happy to see and serve you, their prices are almost un-beatable, and most importantly, their bubble tea is basically un-matched.
