Say hello to the Stables’ mouthwatering new Steakhouse menu
From romantic date nights to lunch with the boss, indulging in a succulent steak is one of life’s great pleasures – made even more delicious by the knowledge that it’s been locally and sustainably produced.
CBD favourite the Stables is levelling up their steak game, serving up a brand new menu in collaboration with iconic WA brand Harvey Beef.
With a sixth generation WA farming family at its helm, Harvey Beef have been refining their farming practices over more than a century – working with a close-knit community of local farmers who are just as passionate as they are about sustainability, animal welfare and creating world-class produce.
The result is beef that is beloved by home cooks and chefs alike – including the Stables’ Executive Chef Ben Keal, who will be exclusively showcasing the Harvey Beef Reserve 100-day grain fed range in the brand new Stables Steakhouse menu.
“Most of the menu at the Stables is from WA,” he told us when we stopped by for a fireside chat in the Stables’ cosy courtyard on a recent wintery afternoon.
“We deal very directly with mostly WA suppliers, so it was a natural opportunity to join Harvey Beef Reserve and the Stables – an iconic WA producer and WA venue, and to showcase some good quality meat in the city.”
From June 14, the menu will be available every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and feature a selection of dry aged cuts at a variety of price points.
“We’re going to have the Ribeye, we’re going to have some Scotchies, we’re going to have some Porterhouse, and we’ll do a Butcher’s Choice cut each week as well.”
“It’s dry aged, and it’s grain fed so you’ve got some beautiful marbling through it,” explains Ben. “We tend to dry age for about two weeks, and you’ll see the marbling will just get better and better.”
“It’s a local product, looking after WA farmers. There’s so much quality meat in Australia, but the WA produce is second to none.”
“The steak scene in Perth is growing fast. Teaming up with Harvey Beef Reserve, we want to offer a premium product at an affordable price.”
Of course, while the steak is the star of the show – the supporting cast is arguably just as important. With that in mind, you’ll be able to choose from a selection of sauces to top your steak – think classic peppercorn, mushroom and madeira, Café de Paris butter or keep it simple with a spread of mustard.

You can also dive into an enticing selection of sides, from the Stables’ signature hand cut chips to crispy brussels sprouts, bourguignon mushrooms or chargrilled broccolini – not to mention some cheeky Leeuwin Estate wine pairings and Hennessy pairings to really kick things up a notch.
As Chef Ben puts it: “Come down, chill by the fire and have a big long lunch!”
