Shakespeare in the Park is a classic institution – not just in the Big Apple but around the world, and after a seven year hiatus from Perth performances, the Bard is finally back!
Presented with the support of Bankwest, this uniquely Western Australian take on Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream is performed by the Fremantle Theatre Company. Having already thrilled audiences in Margaret River and Bunbury over the New Year’s period, the passionate troupe of boundary-pushing theatre makers have one more stop in Albany tomorrow night before heading back our way for some special shows under the stars.
First they’ve got four nights in Fremantle’s beautiful Walyalup Koort from January 12, before finishing with an extended run against the stunning backdrop of King Park’s Botanic Gardens January 19-22 and 25-29.
Suitable for all ages, it’s a magical night out whether you’re on a romantic date or you’ve brought the whole family along. The festivities kick off each night with doors open at 6pm – leaving plenty of picnic time before the show. There’ll be delicious food and drinks available at each site, or you can bring a picnic spread with you – plus a cushion and a blanket to keep comfy and cozy, of course!
If the cushion and picnic rug isn’t quite cutting it, the first 50 Bankwest customers to arrive for each performance can get their tushes on VIP bean bags. Bankwest are also giving away a number of ticket and luxe picnic hamper prize packages, so to get in the running – check out more details HERE.
