As we announced recently, Brookfield Place’s beloved Winter Lights Festival is back in a big way this 2022, featuring an expanded program that includes past favourites like immersive projections, interactive installations and roving performers alongside a couple of special new additions: Twilight Artisanal Markets and Local Live.

The artisan market will feature a variety of local producers setting up shop during nights of the festival’s duration (24–27 August and 1-3 September), selling locally produced and sourced wares that celebrate the Perth community.

Some of the confirmed stalls include Lunahly Designs pet accessories; Jilalga Designs Aboriginal art; Sisters of the Rose floral arrangements; Life in a Jar terrariums; Concrete Gallery and Droning WA photo prints (pictured below) plus many more – check the program here.

Meanwhile the Local Live artist program will see a stellar lineup of emerging muso’s like Acoustic Luke, Ruby Miguel, Jhoe Mura (pictured below, left) and Sash Seabourne (pictured below, right) taking to the stage each night from 5-9pm.

Each night  of the festival there’ll also be a weird and wonderful lineup of performance artists to keep the little ones (and you) entertained, with different performers every night including roller skaters with wings, circus ringmasters, the Leaping Lillies and more (check the website for the full program).

All of this action is gonna require some fuel to keep you going, and not only will some of our favourite basement bars like Bobeche and Bar Lafayette be open (where you can enjoy a drink under the projections spanning across four Heritage Buildings), the precinct’s cafes will be fully operational for cheerful and easy festival eats.
