Ding Dong! North Perth’s Iconic Brick House Is Going On The Market

We’ve got a big ol’ crush on everything local design firm State of Kin do, so we went all weak at the knees when we saw that their iconic Brick House is about to go on the market.

One of Perth’s most unique houses, the distinctive four bedroom, three bathroom residence is the design firm’s flagship project – as well as the home of Studio Director Ara Salomone and her husband, Donny Salomone, construction manager for the studio.

Referencing many of the historical buildings and homes in the neighbourhood, the house is intended to look as if it could be a renovated heritage factory – combining old-world techniques, materiality and charm while embracing the contemporary.

The interior blends a sleek, industrial aesthetic with a sense of playfulness – so while you’ll find plenty of bare bricks (of course), polished concrete and steel, you’ll also find features like an inviting, bright yellow door, oversized handles on the kitchen’s cabinetry, or a suspended reading hammock neighboured by some colourful, Twister-esque dots.
