Mundaring

While Mundaring is the furthest from Perth of this list, the vibrant town is the heart of the Hills – with so many delightful local businesses within easy reach, you’ll hardly have to leave. Circling Mundaring, the Railway Reserves Heritage Trail traverses 41km of quaint towns, scenic views and historical tidbits.

These trails include a section of the Bibbulmun Track, plus some rather speccy picnic spots. Glen Forrest

Nestled between Darlington and Mundaring, the north border of Glen Forrest is shared with the 2700 hectare John Forrest National Park – the first national park designated in WA, and only the second in the whole country! If you like waterfalls and wildflowers, you’ll be in absolute heaven – in winter and spring, the park boasts plenty of both. While it’s right next to Darlington, Glen Forrest’s median house price is considerably lower than its neighbours.
