Summer is officially here, which means Perth’s festival season is about to kick off with some huge events and big days of live music and making memories with your mates.

It’s also an important time for a refresher on how you can stay safe and look out for one another, which is why we’re teaming up with Drug Aware to help you Party Smarter this summer.

We’re not here to talk down to you, rather to offer a few practical tips to keep you and your mates safe, without judgement. So before you hit the dancefloors take a moment to check out the tips and resources available through drugaware.com.au.

Whether it’s knowing the signs of a medical emergency, understanding how to hydrate safely, or using chill-out spaces to cool off between sets, there are things you can do to have fun, and reduce the risk of unintended consequences. While choosing not to use drugs is always the safest option, if you or your friends do choose to use, it’s important to educate yourself about the things you can do to reduce your risk of harm.

The most important piece of advice to take with you on your summer festival journey is: if you or a friend feel unwell (think confusion, nausea that won’t go away, or a racing heartbeat), don’t hesitate to seek help from medics or call 000.

Remember: Medics are there to assist, not to judge or call the police.

Ice Cream Factory

This summer’s hottest (or is it coolest?) music festival, Ice Cream Factory (now just ICF), is on now until February 15, 2025. And there’s some huge artists stopping by along the journey including LUUDE, Patrick Topping, The Jungle Giants, Hermitude and more. ICF also has a designated Drug Aware chillout zone if things are getting a bit much and you need a breather and some cold water, phone chargers and more.
