From Childish Gambino to Bryan Adams and beyond: Check out RAC Arena’s spicy summer lineup
Perth’s upcoming summer is looking like a scorcher for many reasons, but one of the biggest is the red hot array of events that are rolling through town.
And Perth’s home of the big shows, RAC Arena, is the perfect spot to escape the heat while catching some awesome local, national and international talent in both the sports and entertainment world.
In the interest of getting you prepped, and perhaps even offering a bit of Christmas gift inspo, here’s what’s happening at RAC Arena over summer:
Perth Wildcats ‘24/’25 Season
After a huge return to form last year, the Perth Wildcats have their eyes on the big prize once again in NBL Season ‘24/’25, with new Perth-based owner Mark Arena. Join the Red Army for a heap of home games from now through to February 2025, including South East Melbourne Phoenix (Nov 15), Brisbane Bullets (Nov 29), New Zealand Breakers (Dec 1) and Adelaide 36ers (Jan 17).
United Cup (Dec 27-Jan 1)
The world’s top-ranked tennis players will once again be in Perth in December for another blockbuster United Cup, an innovative mixed team tennis event staged in Perth and Sydney. RAC Arena will host some of the world’s top women and men players including superstars Coco Gauff, Alexander Zverev, Taylor Fritz, and Stefanos Tsitsipas, with Team USA, Greece, China, Germany, Canada, Brazil, Spain, Croatia and Kazakhstan duking it out on the RAC Arena courts.
Bryan Adams (Feb 9)
Fun fact, Bryan Adams first Australian concerts were 40 years ago, making him a longggg-time fave down our way, and he returns for the So Happy It Hurts Tour. Rock out to all the faves like Summer of ’69, (Everything I Do) I Do It For You, and Please Forgive Me, and get down early for Adams’ special guest, English singer/songwriter James Arthur.
Childish Gambino (Feb 11)
Childish Gambino returns to Australia next year for the first time since way back in 2019, celebrating his most recent – and final – album, Bando Stone & The New World. Gambino is a superstar across the screen and stage, and he’ll be joined by rising Ghanaian-American pop superstar Amaarae, who will be performing in Australia for the first time.
Kylie (Feb 15)
Australia’s undisputed queen of pop, Kylie, returns to Perth for a massive show the day after Valentine’s Day (Galentine’s party anyone?), celebrating the triumphant release of her latest album, Tension II. The show is currently at capacity but keep an eye on the Ticketek website, as there is often a small amount of tickets released last-minute.
New Order (Mar 5)
Last but certainly not least, and we’re cheating a little with this autumn show, but UK synth-pop legends New Order are coming to Perth next March! The tour will see the band perform their biggest hits over their four-decade, 10-album career, including the likes of Blue Monday, Temptation and Bizarre Love Triangle.
