Check out all of the free family fun on offer at this year’s Lotterywest Avon Descent Festivals

The winter months are here, and we have the perfect activities for you to get outdoors and join the fun of the 50th year celebrations of the Avon Descent, including the Lotterywest Avon Descent Festivals going down on the 11th, 12th and 13th of August!

First up, the Northam Bilya Festival will be showcasing a winter wonderland along with the annual street parade – celebrate the evening in style with the Shire of Northam.

Then you can warm up with international cuisine from all corners of the globe while soaking up the international music and entertainment acts at Shire of Toodyay International Food Fest.

Get outdoors and experience the excitement of the race on the banks of Lilac Hill, as competitors paddle and race through the Swan Valley vineyard region, Upper Swan Bridge and Bells Rapids.

Wander through pop-up artisan markets and celebrate 50 years of the event by viewing a rich history of master crafts at the throwback museum at the City of Swan Avon Descent Festival.

Complete the weekend at the City of Bayswater Finish Line Festival, where you can join support crews and spectators and listen to live commentary on the big screen.

There will be free entertainment, children’s activities and food, while celebrating the natural beauty of the Derbal Yerrigan (Swan River).
