Be careful what you wish for!
Nearly 40 years after the musical’s smash debut on Broadway, and nearly 10 years after its feature film adaptation starring Meryl Streep, West Australian Opera is bringing Stephen Sondheim’s iconic cautionary fairy tale Into The Woods to the Perth stage.
The celebrated Tony and Olivier Award-winning musical follows the stories of the most beloved characters from the fairy tales we all grew up with, including Cinderella, Rapunzel, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (and his beanstalk!), and the archetypal Witch…
But what happens after the happily ever after?
Over eight magical evenings West Australian Opera and the wondrous West Australian Symphony Orchestra will bring to life the dark comedy which poses the question: what would the consequences be if all our wishes were granted?
Set within the spectacular heritage surrounds of His Majesty’s Theatre, Into The Woods’ breathtaking stage design, stunning costuming and magnificent performances from an ensemble cast of Australia’s best talents will transport you to another world – one of witches’ curses and enchanted woods.
Into The Woods runs from March 23-April 1, head to the West Australian Opera website to book your tickets… Just make sure you don’t exchange them for any magic beans!
