In another breathtaking triumph for the Peel region, Pinjarra Fish And Chips has officially been crowned WA’s favourite fish and chip shop.

The Great Australian Fish and Chip Awards, run by Seafood Industry Australia, received a record number of over 300,000 votes from the public for this year’s People’s Choice Awards – awarding winners from each state and celebrating Australia’s world-class seafood.

“Buying Australian seafood supports Australian fishing families and regional communities they operate in. And, the good news is, it’s easy as to support them. You do it just by eating some Great Australian Fish & Chips,” SIA CEO Veronica Papacosta said in a statement, recommending that you get to know your local chippy and ask about where they source their seafood.

“It’s important to always ask for Aussie seafood; even why you’re buying fish & chips. Australian seafood is one of the most sustainable protein sources in the world and our fisheries management is world-class. However, close to 70 per cent of seafood eaten in Australia is imported so it’s important you chat to your server about where your seafood is from.”

This is the second win in the category for Pinjarra Fish And Chips, and comes shortly after the Pinjarra Bakery took out a prestigious national award for Australia’s Best Meat Pie with their chunky steak pie. Everyone in the big smoke better lift their game: Pinjarra’s obviously where it’s at!
