Attention local musos! Applications for RAC Arena’s $15,000 Limelight fund close this week
While we love to talk about all the massive artists making their way here in recent times, it all counts for nothing without a healthy local music scene – and Perth is home to a thriving and diverse one.
When it comes to trying to make it as a local artist, any kind of leg-up they can get is worth its weight in gold, and RAC Arena’s Limelight support fund is a massive one!
Presented by RAC Arena and supported by West Australian Music (WAM), Limelight was launched last year to provide financial, performance and promotion opportunities to one lucky winning act over a 12 month period.
This year’s fund will offer even more opportunities for WA musos with two applicants awarded a runner-up package, valued at $3,000, on top of the main prize.
The main prize is worth over $15,000 and includes:
- $5,000 financial assistance
- Radio campaign thanks to Nova Entertainment
- $2,500 music equipment thanks to Mega Music and Yamaha
- Inclusion in the WAMFest 2024 line-up
- Promotional support via RAC Arena’s marketing channels
It’s an awesome opportunity, one that’s already worked wonders for last year’s winners Alter Boy.
“Over the past 12 months, RAC Arena has absolutely gone above and beyond our expectations, by listening, being flexible and adaptable, and offering genuine help in ways that have truly benefited the band,” said their manager and band member, Joshua Terlick.

“We encourage all emerging WA artists to apply for the fund and we thank RAC Arena and all involved for their support.”
Emerging WA musicians 18 and over can apply from now until midnight November 19, detailing their goals for 2024 and how the fund will help achieve the outcome, with the winners being announced early December.
