A few weeks ago we shared the exciting news that Mt Hawthorn icon The Paddington Ale House had found new custodians in WA’s family-owned ARK Group, the first time the pub had changed hands in over 40 years.

And today we’re excited to exclusively real the new direction for the pub, with plans to re-brand the popular watering hole to The Paddington Bear Ale House.

A spokesperson from ARK Group has revealed it won’t just be in title only, with the venue leaning into a full Paddington Bear-themed re-dressing of the venue.

“We’ll be working with our head chef to create a new bespoke, Peruvian-themed menu in line with Paddington’s South American heritage,” they revealed.

“And of course we’ve already begun work on a special marmalade cocktail,” they continued, citing Paddington’s known obsession with the popular condiment, marmalade jam.

The venue’s dress code will get a sharpening up as well, with all punters required to wear an old red hat and blue duffle coat, with gumboots and suitcase optional.

More to come.
