Lightscape @ Kings Park

Winter sensation Lightscape returns to Kings Park and Botanic Garden with a reimagined trail packed with brand new installations until July 28. Delve into a magical light and sound experience exploring roots, capture unforgettable memories within a tunnel of hearts, wander amongst intricate colourchanging creations, revisit the wonder of last year’s top favourites including the magnificent Winter Cathedral and much more!

Revealed @ Fremantle Arts Centre

Now in its 16th year, 2024’s Revealed features over 150 works by almost 70 First Nations artists across a diverse range of mediums including painting, textiles, photography, sculpture, animation and more. Championing emerging Western Australian talent, 42 of those 70 artists will be exhibiting in Revealed for the first time!

Toddlerfest @ Scitech

Explore Scitech’s ‘Little things that Grow’ festival with your tiny ones everyday at Scitech until July 28. Find out how plants and animals move in the bush, create colourful flowers or butterflies to help the special garden bloom, embark on a cosmic journey of the night sky with your little ones in the Scitech Planetarium and loads more. To The Moon @ WA Museum Boola Bardip

Visitors can jump aboard a virtual trip to the Moon at the captivating new space exhibition, To The Moon, combining lunar art, culturally significant stories and scientific objects to create a multiform display. The exhibition gives visitors the opportunity to learn about space exploration, how it has shaped popular culture, and what the future of space exploration could look like. Look, look. Anna Park @ AGWA

Prodigious art talent Anna Park will be bringing her first international solo exhibition to Perth, where the 27-year-old artist will debut 15 never-before-seen, large-scale charcoal and ink works, created specifically for AGWA. Exploring ideas of female identity through the lens of film and television with Park’s signature use of dark humour, the free exhibition will be on display until September 8 – find out more here.


WEDNESDAY 24 JULY

TIME • RONE After Dark @ AGWA

You can now experience AGWA’s stunning new TIME • RONE exhibition at night, open to visitors for evening sessions from 5pm until late, Wednesday through to Saturday – more info/tickets here.

Jazz Wednesdays @ Hyde Park Hotel

Pete Jeavons has teamed up with The Hyde Park Hotel for his own weekly jazz night, slinking down from 6-8pm with one of Perth’s finest trio of musicians – more info here.

Jazz Wednesdays @ Bark

Subi’s Bark is getting its groove on with live jazz band The Eucalypts slappin’ the bass from 6-8pm on Wednesday nights. Settle in with a mulled wine or signature cocktail and pizza specials.


THURSDAY 25 JULY

Disco Bingo @ Toots

A bingo night for true lovers of disco from all eras, expect an evening full of colourful lights, big hats, wide pants, fruity cocktails, glitter and all things shiny. Entry is free, you just need to find madame Toots somewhere around Chinatown!

Bottomless BBQ @ Guildford Hotel

Hard Jazz @ Clancy’s Fremantle

Ningaloo Records and Clancy’s Fish Pub Fremantle are back at it with a firey fourth instalment of Hard Jazz. If you like your jazz hard, Dan Dalton and Josh Grainger have just the stacked crate of records for you to spend the night under the dirty disco ball in Clancy’s Freo’s beautiful backyard.

Trash Classics: Vampire’s Kiss @ Luna Leederville

Back for another season at Luna Leederville, Trash Classics bring the VHS vibes to the big screen with some so-bad-they’re-good masterpieces and under appreciated cult classics – and this Friday will see Nicolas Cage doing Nicolas Cage things in Vampire’s Kiss – tickets here.

Paris Olympics @ Yagan Square Amphitheatre

If you’re getting into the Olympic spirit as it fast approaches, then you may want to head down to Yagan Square as it transforms into Perth’s official LIVE site. The 7 by 3 metre big screen at the Yagan Square Amphitheatre will be ready for daily live broadcasts of the Olympics from 7am to midnight (plus specially programmed events). Allegorical Threads @ Wireless Hill Museum

Completing his residency in May 2024, Malaysian Artist Chang Yoong Chia will be exhibiting Allegorical Threads – a look around Malaysian identity through themes and stories through the batik sarong. Reflecting on meeting and learning stories of WA Malaysians during his residency, Chang will present Allegorical Threads at IOTA24 International: Yagan Mia Wireless Hill Park exhibition opening this Friday, and running for a month.

Lunar Lounge @ WA Museum Boola Bardip

Embark on an up-late journey into space and back in time at the Lunar Lounge pop-up bar at WA Museum Boola Bardip’s newest exhibition, To the Moon. Blending retro vibes with cutting-edge technology, this one-of-a-kind experiential exhibition turns into a bar every Friday evening – info/tickets here.

Hot Chim Terrace @ Long Chim

It’s back – Hot Chim Terrace, but with a twist! Descend into the Long Chim basement playground and gather around the fire pit for gin, vodka, rum and whiskey-based cocktails, heated with a red-hot poker. Derby Day @ FOMO Freo

From 11am to 3pm, FOMO Freo is getting into the Western Derby spirit with the Purple Army drummers from 11am, followed by a meet and greet with Dockers legend David Mundy and current player Joshua Corbett. The FreoCast DJs will also be spinning tunes, and there’ll be games, prizes and more, along with of course catching the game live and loud at Varsity Freo.

Perth Comic Arts Festival 2024 @ State Library of WA

It’s a free weekend of comic celebrations, including workshops that deep dive into comic creation, the industry and more on Saturday, followed by a Market Hall Day on the Sunday – more info here.

Ladyhawke @ Freo.Social

Aussie indie-electro sensation Ladyhawke is celebrating the 15th anniversary of her breakout debut self-titled album at Freo.Social this Saturday night. She’ll be performing the album in its entirety, including iconic bangers like My Delirium and Paris is Burning. Tickets here.

Beetlejuice Immersive Screening @ Luna Leederville
