The best from the west – take on the rest!
With the Olympics and Paralympics dealing out daily doses of inspiration over the past few weeks, it’s fair to say we’ve caught the athletics bug!
The success of Aussie athletes at both events has definitely given us a new appreciation of the skills and work that goes into any sport, like Water Polo.
In Paris the Aussie women’s team AKA the Stingers scored a silver medal (after bronzes at the previous two meets), while the men’s team – the Sharks – finished eighth.
And the key to world level success for any sport is how strong the grass roots scene is, which is why we’re getting around Water Polo Western Australia this summer, including the upcoming National State Championships on the Gold Coast from September 26-30.

There, Water Polo WA’s 15&U and 17&U State Teams will take on the rest of the country’s best female and male teams.
Each of the four teams has 13 representatives (plus reserves), picked from water polo clubs all over the State, including UWA (Crawley/Mt Claremont), Melville (Bicton), New Wave (South Perth), Dolphins (Claremont) and Triton (North Perth).
