West Coast to host ‘WA Freeze’ this weekend for FightMND round!
The AFL hosts a number of “event” rounds throughout the home and away season, and the FightMND round is up there with the best of ‘em.
This year the campaign marks its 10th anniversary with a massive Big Freeze Round, and the West Coast Eagles are getting in on the fundraising fun against Saint Kilda at Optus this Saturday with the WA Freeze.
They’ll be hosting their own freeze event, similar to the now-iconic MND Big Freeze on match day, featuring an ice bucket dunking of local celebs (new Eagles Women’s coach Daisy Pearce has just been announced as one), along with special Big Freeze 10 Beanies being sold at the ground.
MND stands for Motor Neurone Disease, a debilitating disease currently affecting over 2000 Australians, including AFL legend Neale Daniher, who started the Big Freeze initiative in 2015.

From diagnosis, people with MND usually have an average life expectancy of just 27 months.
Investing in research is still the best weapon against it, and the AFL’s FightMND round has become a hugely important cog in raising those funds.
You can do your part by grabbing one of the exclusive Big Freeze 10 Beanies at the game this weekend (grab tickets here), or by simply donating at fightmnd.org.au.
