This Swanbourne mansion is the ultimate luxe beachside Airbnb
2024 update: Looks like this one’s no longer on the Airbnb market sorry gang!
Fancy the salty water, sea breeze and sun? How about all three, with a big old dose of luxury living?
This Swanbourne Airbnb boasts one of the most enviable locations in the whole state: mere metres away from the spectacular North Cottesloe beach, and moments away from some of Perth’s most beloved eateries. We’re taking a peek inside thanks to our pals at Crib Creative.
The five bedroom home was designed by Sam Klopper of Klopper & Davis Architects – son of iconic West Australian architect Brian Klopper, and now an acclaimed architect in his own right.
At once a robust family home and elegant beachside retreat, this home makes an impact from the get-go – both from its impressive scale from the street, as well as its woven hit-and-miss brickwork, mid-century motifs and a spectacular rooftop terrace, from which you can see all the way to Rottnest.
The street-facing front garden is also where you’ll find the home’s pool – perfect for afternoons when the sea breeze has come in.
Inside is just as breathtaking, with the open plan living and dining room’s ceiling reaching soaring heights. Either side of the great room is flanked by floor-to-ceiling windows, with vast sliding doors seamlessly connecting to multiple outdoor living and dining areas.

Custom bricks have been manufactured here in Perth to find the perfect colour, and are used en masse throughout – with decorative brickwork depicting Chinese zodiacs overlooking the backyard, pool and rumpus room.
Tucked away at one end of the huge space is the kitchen – with a cosier scale, but no less grand, with plenty of marble and brass to bring a sense of glamour.
Upstairs, the primary suite offers a tranquil retreat, with a plush window seat making the perfect spot to take in a quiet moment before your day gets going. Bathrooms merge retro with contemporary with a mass of kitkat tile and curved walls to separate areas.
