One of Australia’s most celebrated and unique film festivals, CinfestOZ Albany, is on again later this month and it’s fair to say we’re just a little bit excited.

Running from April 27-30 within the stunning surrounds of historic Albany in our Great Southern Region, this year’s fest is screening 18 feature films and 10 short films from here and abroad, along with a brilliant program of events to go with it.

These include filmmaker In-Conversation events, a Gala red carpet night, free community days, dedicated Industry Program connecting local filmmakers national and international talent and the Cinesnaps school program talent, plus the must-see Kinjarling Koort – Noongar for ‘Albany Heart’.

Taking place on Saturday 29 April, it’s a celebration of Albany’s Menang community and its local filmmakers in the Albany Town Hall & Square, with special screenings of Making Waves and Bayonettes and Butterflies, followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers.

Other notable films that will be screening include Blueback, based on Tim Winton’s beloved book; stunning surf doco Corners of the Earth: Kamchatka (pictured at the top of the article); and Indigenous documentaries The Last Daughter and You Can Go Now.

Taking place across an array of spectacular venues around Albany, you can check out the full program here, and to go in the running to win an epic CinefestOZ experience for two valued at nearly $3,000 (including flights to Albany and a 3-night stay in the modern surrounds of Hilton Garden Inn Albany), head to our Instagram post below:
