About Us

Perth is OK! is an authentic local voice to inspire, excite, empower and bring together the people of WA through optimistic and actionable stories.

We are the largest independent digital media outlet in Western Australia – a social media-led, modern digital media organisation that prides itself on being at the forefront of how audiences engage with media brands online.

Over 80% of our audience is based in WA, with perthisok.com proudly attracting over 500,000 unique users and 1 million web page views per month. We also boast over 1.5 million social media followers across Instagram, TikTok and Facebook that are all interested in – and love – our city and state.

Brand Story

It started with a hashtag.

Tired of being unfairly labeled as a dull city in a sleepy state by our east coast cousins, we decided it was high-time to take back control of the narrative for the people who lived here.

Launching in 2014, #PerthisOK delivered a platform to discover and share all the best parts of their city. Quickly, it outgrew the boundaries of the capital as residents of Broome, Esperance and everywhere in-between sent through moments of WA greatness.

As it turned out, that little tongue-in-cheek phrase had sparked a state-wide movement.

WA is not the sleepy place it once was, it’s something bigger, better, more aspirational. Change will always be a constant but, if we continue to work together and harness all the local good in WA, our home will always be a place we’re proud of.
