Six Perth Coffee Roasters To Stock Up At
Whether you’re a budding home barista, or looking to upgrade your office espresso game, these local coffee roasters will help get you through the work week.
Twin Peaks
While the too-cool name is enough to make an impact, Twin Peaks’ coffee lives up to the hype. Providing some of the consistently best beans in Perth for years, you’ll find Twin Peaks being served up at top cafes like Smooth Operator, Satchmo and Best Wishes. Bookmark your next Saturday morning for a brew at their Morley roastery with a slice from the Dank Pizza weekly pop-up.
Leftfield
Helmed by coffee veterans previously of Fiori fame, Leftfield was conceived in Sydney during a five-year absence from Perth. With over 20 years dedicated to coffee roasting, these guys know what they are doing. And while you can pop into their roastery or order online, Leftfield is stocked at a huge number of grocers and specialty stores across WA, so you can stock up no matter where you are.
Pound
Local coffee aficionados will recognise Pound’s signature gold-foiled bags (each done by hand!) from their prime position in some of Perth’s best cafes. While the bags are great, it’s what’s inside that counts, and these guys are all about showcasing the hard work that goes into growing beans. Roasting in ultra-small batches, their menu is always evolving, and always carefully considered, with a big commitment to ethical and sustainable roasting.
Blacklist
Blacklist already has a growing list of successful operations under their belt (Sprolo, Little Matcha Girl) and their latest addition is their concept store in Subiaco. While you can still grab your regular flat white to go, customers can pay $9 for an entire tasting menu of Blacklist’s blends and single origins. Real coffee nerds might want to consider joining the Blacklist Club – membership gets you unlimited dine in coffee tastings.

Mano a Mano
When some of the best restaurants in Perth stock Mano a Mano, you’ve gotta take notice. Seasonally sourcing micro-lots from ethical producers, Mano a Mano then roasts in small batches to show off each region’s botanical characteristics. You’ll find the West Perth roasters stocked across the road at Gordon Street Garage, as well as Il Lido, Petition Kitchen and more – not to mention their own on-site espresso bar.

Laika
Helmed by owners previously from Hylin and Mano e Mano, Laika pairs their next level brunch game with next level coffee. Roasting on site in the former washing-machine workshop-turned-cafe, Laika’s focus is on single origin rather than blends, allowing each roast to showcase the region or farm they’re sourced from. Choose instead from either their “black” range – frequently rotating micro-lots best drunk without milk, or their “white” range – larger lots roasted with more intensity that can be enjoyed with milk.
